Good home made inverter
Hello ever one welcome to my blog I will like to introduce
to you my home made inverter.
Most people think that home made inverter are not
reliable thy may have had some ugly experience about a home made inverter in
the past but the truth is that every inverter is base on some one idea and how
well the person understand the technology is what will determine how good his
inverter will perform.
I have been building inverter for years and I have been
working herd to understand it better and to improve on what I already know I
have had up and down situations in the past but all thanks to God today am doing
great.
What are the challenges in some inverter
There are many things that can make an inverter not to
perform well.
(1) Frequency.
if the output voltage of the inverter do not have a good frequency it can
create a humming sound in an inductive load and it can make an inductive load
to work on a higher amps and there by making it to generate much heat and get
burnt.
(2) Low
batter cut off. If the inverter do not have a low battery cut off it can drain down the battery to an extreme
low voltage and there by reducing the life sperm of the battery.
(3) Under
Charging. If the inverter has an inbuilt battery charger that is under charging
the battery or the charging current from the inverter is too poor the inverter
will take a much longer time to charge the battery and if such a long time is
not giving the battery will always be under charge and this will reduce the life
of the battery.
(4) Over
charging of the battery. If the inverter charging current is very good then there should be a battery full cut off
circuit or a circuit that can reduce the charging current of the inverter and
keep the battery on a float voltage otherwise the battery will be over charge
and over charging of a battery can reduce the life of the battery.
(5) Overload.
If you overload an inverter it will over heat the inverter circuit and create a
damage in the inverter this is why all inverter must have an overload
protection circuit or a reliable circuit
breaker.

the inverter in the above picture is my 2KVA 24V DC input inverter with inbuilt battery charger with built in automatic change over, the automatic switching from mains to inverter mode or power back up mode of this inverter is as fast like a UPS.
technical parameters
1. system DC input voltage.......................................................24V
2. system AC output voltage.....................................................220V
3. mains input.......................................................................... 200V to 230V
4.battery low voltage cut off.................................................... 20.5V
5.battery full cut off voltage......................................................29V
6. over load warning alarm at...................................................1300W load
and cut off after 10 to 15 seconds
7. over load cut off at .............................................................1800W and above
8. red color low battery indicator bulb.
9. green color battery full indicator bulb.
10. orange color mains indicator bulb.
11. red color over load indicator bulb.
12. charging current / load capacity meter.
13. DC input voltage meter.
14. AC input voltage meter.
15. DC input circuit breaker.
16. AC input circuit breaker.
some one may ask if the inverter is 2KVA why is the load delay cut off at 1300W?
it is because i don't think it is a good ideal to load any appliances to its maximum capacity and the user may not be able to calculate the amount of load he or she is using that is why i design the inverter overload delay cut off at 1300W and instant cut off at 1800W this will make the system on its own to manage the amount of load you are using.

sir than you for the nice circuit i been searching for this type circuit and finally found but sir i have a question to ask be for i will stat build in the cd 4047 pin 4,5,6,where it should connected it connect with pin 14 or it unconnected thank you hope to hear from you
ReplyDeletehi very good job is this i also like this very interesting i am going to build this
ReplyDeletethanks
ReplyDeletecircuit not available
ReplyDeletePlease were is the diagram for this 2kva inverter
ReplyDeleteGood job sir Emmanuel. i really love to try and build this 2kva inverter. please can you send me the circuit diagram, i love to give it a try.. because am tire of nepa and also the generator noise.. thank you and may God add more beauty in your life.. chukzy3700@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful job. sir, i will be very greatful to have the circuit and the transformer spec. in this email-ojtech8291@gmail.com. thanks once again
ReplyDeletecan u work this inverter on 12v dc
ReplyDeletepls can u send me the pcb diagram tdboy59@gmail.com
ReplyDeletecan I get the diagram
ReplyDeleteSir please I will like to know if the circuit is a square wave or PWM or pure sine wave...
ReplyDeleteAnd also I have built the 1000 watt version but if I put load like fan on it, it doesn't speed like Normal and it also hums
If I adjust the variable resistor I don't see any effect on the output.. can u help me pls
Gudday sir. My name is Authorized Gabriel and I am working on an inverter. Can you send me the circuit diagram of a 2000 watts inverter
ReplyDeleteGooddey mr.Emnanuel. Thanksfor sharing with us your technical ability in electronics. I'm a beginner in building power inverters. I have already build one for a self use. It a 12vdc-220vac which consist of a 555 timer ic and 2 mosfets irfz44. The transformer i used is from MVO self winding at secondary side. I build this inverter, two years now and it still working great. It's around 600w but i use it to power 2 tv sets,2 light bulbs, a fan and a radio set all at thesame time for almost 4hours. And now, as i saw your circuit i wanted to give it a try so, i have started building it. This time, i am building something much greater than my first one. The one building now is 3000w, 24vdc-230vac. Therefore sir, i will need some kind of protection to the inverter, moreover i will like modify the circuit to a sine wave since the circuit you posted is a square wave. I need your help sir i am looking forward for your reply. Thanks
ReplyDeleteMoi d'après moi je suggère d'y ajouter un oscillateur avec ici 555 pour convertir le signal carré a un signal sinusoïdale pur
DeleteBro how many amps transformer in this circuit and it can start iron or not
ReplyDeleteNice one sir. I'll like to give it a try. May i get the circuit diagram? Pls and pls
ReplyDeleteWhere are the other diagrams . Sir
ReplyDeletePls I need the circuit diagram and part list for the 2kv invetet
